What our patients say ...

Gina Tilton

Before procedure:
Vision 20/400

Current vision: 20/25

Finds most remarkable:
"I'm becoming a certified rescue diver. I never would have done this without
Dr. Kahn."

"Dr. Kahn has really
changed my life!"

"My son was the main reason I had this done," said Gina Tilton. Mother of a nine-year-old with poor vision, Gina said, "His eyes are deteriorating each year. I knew I would want to correct them as soon as he is old enough, but I wanted to make sure it was safe first. So, I had the surgery done on me."

"It's phenomenal. Dr. Kahn has really changed my life."

"I used to love to swim, but never did because I wasn't comfortable swimming with contacts ... and I couldn't even attempt it without my contacts or glasses. Since the surgery I have become a certified scuba diver, and I'm going on to become a rescue diver. Rescue divers are kind of the EMS under water. Never in a million years would I have done this without Dr. Kahn.

Needless to say, Gina wholeheartedly recommends the procedure to her family and friends, and is looking forward to bringing her son in ... in 2007!

Mark Case

Wore Glasses: 30 years

Before procedure:
Vision 20/300

Current vision: 20/15

Finds most remarkable:
"Just waking up and being able to see your child's face."

"I sometimes see better than the kids do!"

"It becomes so natural so quickly that you really have to step back and appreciate what has happened and how much your life has changed," said Mark Case about Excimer laser surgery. Mark interviewed nine doctors before having the procedure done in the Fall of 1997 by Dr. Kahn. "When I met 'the Doc' I knew this was a man I could put my trust in. He's just an amazing doctor," Mark recalled.

"I can't even name all the ways it changes your life. I'm an average guy with four active boys, I own a business -- my life is hectic. Just waking up in the morning and being able to see your child's face and the leaves on the trees...it's a miracle."

"I can now see 20/15 -- far better than most people. They call "perfect" vision 20/20. Since the surgery, mine is even better than perfect! I sometimes see better than the kids do."

Because of his astigmatism, Mark could not wear contact lenses, so even the little things like buying stylish sunglasses was a new experience. "Before, all I could wear were those clip ons."

"I don't have to worry about walking in from the cold and having glasses fog up. When it's raining and I jog I don't have to keep stopping to wipe my glasses with my t-shirt. When I go to work I don't have to put on one pair of glasses to see distance, and another to see what's on my desk."

Since saying goodbye to his eyeglasses, Mark has made a few other changes in his life. Namely, he decided to get rid of his moustache saying, "I feel younger, I don't need it anymore."

David Cunneff

Age: 30+

Wore Glasses: 24 years

Before procedure:
Vision 20/400

Current vision: 20/20

Finds most remarkable:
"It's great to wake up to no glasses..."

"It's a thrill not having to put a contact lens back in while sitting on my surfboard!"

"I do a lot of surfing," said David Cunneff about his active lifestyle, "So I had to wear contact lenses in the ocean. Let me tell you it's a thrill to surf now and not have to store a popped-out lens in my mouth until I get back to the beach, or have to put one back in sitting on my board," he said.

When he's not catching a wave, David can often be found at work on a construction site. "Before, if I had to wear a mask, the glasses would fog up. Now, I still wear protective eyewear, but when I wear a mask I can always see through it."

"Contacts and glasses can really be annoying, especially during sports," David said. "It's great not having to wear them anymore. I can see perfectly without them."

"I would recommend this to anyone. Just a few weeks after the surgery I drove to Florida straight through the night -- that's something I never could have done before."

Comparing his newfound vision to the thrill of the first time he saw clearly, David said, "I remember putting on someone's glasses in the seventh grade, and I looked up at a tree and saw there were branches and twigs -- it wasn't just a big clump. It's just as exciting being able to see that clearly now without the help of glasses."
